Consider the following conditions:
- When the Default Customer Type = Company in Setup > Company > General Preferences > Default Customer Type > Company = True, the Contacts subtab is available in the General subtab > Contacts sublist of the new customer entry form and Contacts can be associated with a Customer record.
- When a Customer record is set to Type = Individual, the Contacts subtab is hidden and becomes unavailable for viewing.
- In the contact entry form, either in View or Edit mode, a Customer record with Type = Individual can be associated in the General subtab > Companies sublist > enter Company ID > Attach
To be able to view the Contacts that has been associated previously to a Customer record with Type = Individual, edit the Customer record to set Type = Company:
1. Navigate to Lists > Relationships > Customers and Edit the Customer record. Alternatively, do a Global Search of the Customer record > Edit
2. Set Type = Company
Note: The following enhancement has been filed to request for the ability to associate contacts to individual type customers:
Enhancement 109341 - List > Relationship > Customer > New > Type = Individual: Customer wants to be able to attach a contact record to a customer who is a type of individual.
