Create assembly wherein the components are coming from a different subsidiary

The possibility depends on the subsidiary restrictions implemented in the user's assemblies and its components.

User can set the subsidiary restriction by opening the Item Record of assemblies or components (items) in Edit mode and selecting the subsidiaries to be associated with that item.

Example: If user is building a Car which is an assembly item and the component is Wheels.
Subsidiaries:
-China.
-Australia.

Scenario 1:

If the Car is restricted to Australia and the Wheels are restricted to Australia, then user will be able to build the assembly in Australia only. User will not be able to build the assembly in China since the assembly and the components are only restricted to Australia.

Assembly = Y (Yes, Restricted)
Component = Y (Yes, Restricted)

Answer:
1. As long as same subsidiary restriction = Yes, possible

2. Different subsidiaries = Not possible.

Scenario 2:

If the Car is restricted to Australia and the Wheels are not restricted to Australia then user will be able to build the assembly in Australia only (restriction) this is because components are available in Australia and also in China.

Assembly = Y (Yes, Restricted)
Component = N (Not restricted)

Answer: Yes, possible.

Scenario 3:

If the Car is not restricted to Australia (available to both subsidiaries) and the Wheels are restricted to China only, then user will not be able to build the assembly in Australia since the component is only restricted to China.

Assembly = N (Not Restricted)
Component = Y (Yes, Restricted)

Answer: Not possible.

Scenario 4:

If the Car is not restricted to only one subsidiary and the wheels are not restricted to only one subsidiary, then user will be able to build the assembly (car) for both Australia and China.

Assembly = N (Not Restricted)
Component = N (Not Restricted)

Answer: Yes, possible.
