Customize Consolidated Balance Sheet to show Beginning Balance+Transactions per Month=Ending Balance

--Navigate to Reports>Financial>Balance Sheet.

--Set the Subsidiary Context to the Consolidated Level.

--Customize.

--Click Edit Columns link.

--For the Beginning Balance, edit the first Amount Column:

Alternate Period Range Type: Relative to Todays Date

Alternate Period Range: Custom

Period: Highlight the Periods from the beginning up until the Ending Period before the Period you are running on an "Activities only" setting.

For the "Activities"

--Open the Financial folder and select Amount equal to the number of Periods to be added.

--On each of the Amount columns added set the following:

Alternate Period Range Type: Relative to Todays Date

Alternate Period Range: Custom

Period: Highlight the Period that would contain the activity (e.g January 2013).

Do the same for the other Amount columns but using a different Period (e.g February, March, April etc).

--Click on Filters Link.

Change the Period field to Inclusive and click Done.

--For the Ending balance, Add a separate Amount Column:

Alternate Period Range Type: Relative to Todays Date

Alternate Period Range: Custom

Period: Highlight the Periods from the beginning up until the Ending Period you want to generate the As of Amount.

--Click Preview/Save.

Note:

Do not highlight the following on the Period field except if you are running the whole quarter or the whole year:

Fiscal Year Label

Quarter Label.
