Custom Field not shown on the list of available fields for Sales Rules

Sales Rules are based on standard and custom fields found on Lead, Prospect, and Customer records, such as name, address, and phone number. However, custom fields may sometimes not be available due to the following scenario:


There are two custom fields with exactly the same name
a. Customization > Lists, Records, & Fields >  Entity Fields : Name =  Type of Community Organization.
b. Customization > Lists, Records, & Fields > Transaction Body Fields : Name = Type of Community Organization.


To make the Custom Field available on the list of fields for Sales Rules:
1. Log in as Administrator.
2. Navigate to Customization > Lists, Records, & Fields > Entity Fields.
3. Edit Type of Community Organization.
4. Applies To Tab > make sure that an entity record is selected.
5. Save.
6. Navigate to Customization > Lists, Records, & Fields > Transaction Body Fields
7. Edit Type of Community Organization
8. Change the Name of the Field.
9. Save.
Note: This will flush-out tag from NetSuite that there are two custom fields with the same name thus no such field is showing at the list available for new Sales Rule.

Also, signing out and clearing the cache of the browser will ensure that the list is updated.

The custom field is now available at Setup > Sales > Sales Rules > New.
