Facts about the Standard Sales Roles in the Sales Preferences page

 

In SuiteAnswers article Sales Force Automation Preferences with Answer ID: 9775, the Standard Sales Roles field found when navigating to Setup > Sales > Sales Preferences; It is defined as a level of restriction users want to place on standard sales roles. However, it doesn't describe how it works.

 

If the NetSuite Administrator selects any of the Standard Sales Roles, NetSuite assigns an employee restriction to the following standard roles shown below.

 

A. If Standard Sales Roles= Restrict Editing and Viewing

            • Name= Sales Person | Employee Restrictions= own and subordinates only

            • Name= Sales Manager | Employee Restrictions= own, subordinate, and unassigned

           

B. If Standard Sales Roles= Restrict Editing Only

            • Name= Sales Person | Employee Restrictions= own and subordinates only | Allow Viewing= T

            • Name= Sales Manager | Employee Restrictions= own, subordinate, and unassigned | Allow Viewing= T

           

C. If Standard Sales Roles= Unrestricted

            • Name= Sales Person | Employee Restrictions= none - no default.

            • Name= Sales Manager | Employee Restrictions= none - no default.
