Scenario :

Preview a saved search / Open a Transaction List

Error: In a summary search, you must sort by a result field with a summary function. Please go back and correct the sort by field on the results tab


Findings :

The error may be derived two ways:

1. Saved Search or
2. Transactions List View

User might have chosen a custom Transaction List View that sources from a Saved Search with Available As List View = True

 

Solution :

Option 1:

1. Edit the saved search

2. Check if the search's Results tab field value for " Sort By " and also has set " Summary Types " on the Columns subtab

3. Either assign a value for Summary Type for each of the fields selected on " Sort By " or

4. Remove the value for Summary Type for each of the fields selected

Option 2:

If user is unsure which saved search is used as the custom Transaction List View, user may ask another user who can open the transaction list for the URL for View = Default . The user who can open the page needs to change the View to another one than Default and then change it back to Default one. The URL is change and the ID of the Default view is added to the URL.
