Relation of Post to Next Open Period if AR/AP is Locked FAM Settings and Accounting Periods to Depreciation Journal Entry Generation

If Post to Next Open Period if AR/AP is Locked = True, in FAM Setup (Fixed Assets > Setup > System Setup) and depreciation was ran on locked/closed period, Depreciation Journal Entry created is dated the last day of the next open period.

If Post to Next Open Period if AR/AP is Locked = False, consider the following scenarios:

1. If in Setup > Accounting > Manage Accounting Periods > AR/AP = Locked, Depreciation Journal Entry will be posted to the last day of the period when depreciation was ran (current open period).

Example:
Depreciation was run on 1/30/13.
AR/AP is locked in Setup > Accounting > Manage Accounting Periods.

Actual Result: Depreciation Journal Entry will be dated 1/31/13.

2. If in Setup > Accounting > Manage Accounting Periods > Lock All = True or Accounting Period is Closed, Depreciation Journal Entry will be posted to the last day of the next open period.
