Add a New Note to customer records via CSV Import

Scenario:

·        CSV Import of NewNotes to show in Lists >Relationships > Customers > Communicationtab > Users Notes sub tab

 

Solution:

1.       Create CSV file with thefollowing columns:

External ID

Entity (User can use the customer ID or the customer's Internal ID)

Title

Type

Direction (Optional)

Memo

Date

2.       Add a New Note through CSVImport

·        Navigate to Setup >Import/Export > Import CSV Records

·        Set:

·   Import Type = Communications

·   Record Type = Notes

·        Choose the CSV file

·        Hit Next

·        Set DataHandling = Add

·        Field mapping:

·   Direction <> Direction

·   External ID <> External ID

·   Entity <>  Entity (Usercan set the default value by clicking on the edit/pencil icon to Internal ID if using the Internal ID of the customer)

·   Memo <> Memo

·   Date <> Date

·   Type <> Type (user can setthe default value by clicking on the edit/pencil icon to Note)

·        Hit Next

·        Add value to ImportMap Name

·        Hit Save and Run
