CSV Response: "That Record Does Not Exist" when Updating Prospects and Contacts Together Through CSV Import

When updating prospects and contacts together through CSV Import, user is getting CSV Response: "That Record Does not Exist" (e.g. Phone Number of Prospects and Contacts).

To resolve this error, perform the following steps:

     1. Navigate to Home > Set Preferences.
     2. Click the General tab.
     3. In the Defaults section, check Show Internal IDs.
     4. Navigate to Lists > Search > Saved Searches > New.
     5. Select Customer.
     6. In the Criteria tab > Standard subtab, add the following filters:

  • Stage is Prospect
  • Add other required fields

     7. In the Results tab > Columns subtab, add the following fields:

  • Name
  • Phone Number
  • Contact Fields: Name
  • Contact Fields: Internal ID
  • Other required fields

     8. Click Preview.
     9. Click Export - CSV.
     10. Save the CSV file.
     11. Open the CSV file and make the necessary adjustments (e.g. update the phone number field).
     12. Save the CSV file.
     13. In NetSuite, navigate to Setup > Import/Export > Import CSV Records.
     14. Select Relationships in the Import Type field.
     15. Select Prospects and Contacts Together in the Record Type field.
     16. Click Select.
     17. Locate the updated CSV file then cilck Open.
     18. Click Next.
     19. Select Update for Data Handling.
     20. Click Next.
     21. In the Field Mapping section, map the following fields:

NetSuite Fields

Internal ID

Internal ID (Internal ID of Prospect)


Company Name (Prospect Folder)


Phone (Prospect Folder)


Contact (Contact Folder)

Contact Phone Number

Main Phone (Contact Folder)

Internal ID of Contacts

Internal ID (Contact Folder)

     22. Click Next.
     23. Provide an Import Map Name.
     24. Click Save & Run.
