Effects of increasing the Minimum Password Length preference to existing users

When the Minimum Password Length is increased under Setup > Company > General Preferences, the following are the effects to existing users:

• The current passwords that do not meet the new criteria remains useable.   
  
  
• Users are not required to immediately change their password even if the number of characters in their current password does not meet the minimum length requirement. The new preference will take effect once users are ready to change their own password.
