When uploading CSV file to File Cabinet, the data type changes to Excel or Text File. This is not controlled by NetSuite and this behavior is dependent on the browser.
If the user is using Safari or Firefox to upload the CSV file to the File Cabinet, the data type of the uploaded file is changed to Text File. However, user using Google Chrome or Internet Explorer, the data type of the uploaded file is changed to Excel File.
To keep the data type when uploading CSV file to the File Cabinet, perform the following steps:
1. Locate the CSV file to upload.
2. Zip the file.
3. In NetSuite, navigate to Documents > Files > File Cabinet.
4. Click the Folder where to upload the file.
5. Click Advanced Add.
6. Click Browse to locate the zipped file.
7. Check Unzip files.
8. Click Add.
