Website Registration > Assign a Lead Source to Newly Registered/Purchased from the Webstore


When sending a bulk email/ Campaign to Prospects/ Customers that include a link to the registration page from their webstore, Lead Source can be captured from Online Customer form submission but not from the website registration. Currently, the lead source shows as blank when a customer registers through the web site registration page.

To Resolve:

1. Enable Marketing Automation. Navigate to Setup > Company > Enable Features.
2. Locate the CRM tab.
3. Mark the Marketing Automation box.
4. Click Save.
5. Navigate to Lists > Marketing > Campaigns.
6. Edit the Campaign/ Lead source to be used
note: Make sure it has Campaign ID (example: AAA).

7. Get the URL of your Online Registration form.
To get this, Go to the website, on the page where new Customer enters information to login. Example: URLxxx

8. Create a Template. Navigate to Documents > Templates > Email templates > New
9. Enter name of the Template
10. Navigate to Template tab > Text editor = True

Note: On the message box, enter the URL and append with lead Source and Campaign ID (?leadsource=AAA)
Format looks like this: URLxxx?leadsource=AAA

11. Send Bulk email to Customer using the Template.
Navigate to Documents > Mail merge > Bulk merge

12. Recipient will receive the email and clicks on the URL to register
13. Recipient will Register as new Customer

14. Go back to NetSuite
15. View the Lead / Customer record

Actual Result: Leadsource "AAA" is logged under the Marketing tab

NOTES:

The above steps will only work when Marketing Automation = True.
(Setup > Company > Enable features > CRM tab > Marketing Automation = marked).
