Zebra is phasing out LP2844 on February 28, 2011. What replacement printers can we recommend to customers?

Question/Problem:

Zebra is phasing out LP2844 on February 28, 2011. What replacement printers can we recommend to customers?

Answer/Solution:

Zebra is phasing out LP2844 on February 28, 2011. Other supported thermal printer models have been already discontinued as well, such as Eltron 2042, 2442, 2543, Epson FX 870 and 880+.  Zebra recommended to use the G-series printers instead. These are available worldwide. Here's the link --> http://www.zebra.com/id/zebra/na/en/index/products/printers/desktop.html

The list includes:

GX420t

GX420d

GX430t (please do not to recommend this because it prints 300 dpi resolution. Labels will shrink because our epl labels have 203 dpi.)

GK420t

GK420d

As of the moment, this is still under PM discussion. A doc defect will be filed immediately soon as management finished testing these printers recommended by Zebra.
