When creating custom transaction fields, only records associated with the current field type can be used as Source List. For example, custom record types can only be used as a Source List of custom transaction fields if there is a parent-child relationship between transactions and that record type, wherein the custom record type is the parent.
To establish this relationship, a custom record field of List/Record type must be created. The steps below can be used as a guide:
1. Navigate to Customization > Lists, Records, & Fields > Record Types > New.
2. Provide a Name.
3. Click Save.
Note that if you create a custom transaction body field and click the Sourcing & Filtering tab, the custom record type is not yet available as a Source List.
4. Navigate to Customization > Lists, Records, & Fields > Transaction Body Fields > New.
5. Provide a Label.
6. Set the Type to List/Record.
7. On the List/Record field, select the custom record type.
8. Mark the Store Value and Record is Parent checkboxes.
9. Click Save.
To test:
10. Navigate to Customization > Lists, Records, & Fields > Transaction Body Fields or Transaction Line Fields > New.
11. Click the Sourcing & Filtering tab. Notice that the custom record type is now available as a Source List.
