Capture the SAML response on Firefox using SAML Tracer

One use of getting the SAML response is when customers get unexpected errors when connecting through SAML and the next step is to contact support to know more about the unexpected error. Since support needs the timestamp to properly trace the error encountered by the customer and other details necessary to start troubleshooting the issue, it is recommended for customers to use SAML Tracer to send the SAML response and send it to support. SAML Tracer is a tool for viewing SAML messages sent through the browser during single sign-on and single logout.

1. To install SAML Tracer, open the Firefox browser. Go to Tools > Add-Ons.
2. On the right hand side, click on "See All" link or you could go directly to this page: https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/extensions/
3. Search for SAML Tracer.
4. Click on Add to Firefox.
5. Click on Install.
6. Restart Firefox.
7. Open SAML Tracer by going to Tools > SAML Tracer.
8. Logon to the SAML initiating URL.
9. Go to the SAML Tracer window.
10. To see the SAML response, go to the latest "POST" > SAML tab.

11. The user can now see the SAML response. If the user got an unexpected error, the user can send this to Support as a text file.
