Unable to Set Preferred Location on Item Records


Normally, a Preferred Location can be set on an inventory type of item. This holds true even if there are existing transactions for that item.

However, there are instances where the Preferred Location field is missing in an item even if the form sets it to display. This happens if the item is a matrix item.

To set a Preferred Location for matrix items:

1. View the item and click its parent item under Subitem of.

2. Edit the parent item.

3. Under Inventory tab > Locations subtab, set the Preferred Location.

4. Hover over More Actions and click on Update Matrix.

5. Mark Include checkbox for subitems you need to update.

6. Click Submit.

7. Click OK.
