CSV Import: Item records > Error: The field itemid contained more than the maximum number ( 60 ) of characters allowed.

Scenario: Customer is trying to import new Item records yet unable to run the CSV Process due to an error: The field itemid contained more than the maximum number ( 60 ) of characters allowed.

Recommendation:

-The Item Name/Number field on Item records should contain up to 60 characters only. Spaces and other symbols are also counted.

-CSV Import Process behaves the same as done manually in the User Interface.

-Modify the CSV Import file and limit the said field within the allowed 60 characters prior to import.

Note: Enhancement # 170027 has been filed to expand the limit of 60 characters on Item Name/Number field.
