Payroll Set-up for Employees and Workplaces in Oregon

It is imperative to set the correct Jurisdictions on the employee and/or workplace records to calculate the appropriate local tax.
 
To get the correct local:
1. Get the zip code of the employee and/or workplace's address.
2. Determine the correct Local and School District Jurisdiction Set Up by referring to the following agency website.

http://www.oregon.gov/DOR/Pages/index.aspx 
http://www.oregon.gov/pages/index.aspx

3. Update the Employee and Workplace record.

A. Employee record
a. Navigate to Lists > Employees > Employees
b. Click Edit next to the employee record to be updated
c. Click Payroll > Jurisdictions tab
d. Select the right local based on the link above next to the Local field
e. Save
 
B. Workplace record
a. Navigate to Lists > Employees> Workplaces
b. Edit the Oregon workplace
c. Click Jurisdictions
d. Select the right local based on the link above next to the Local field
e. Save

3. Sync the updates done to the payroll tax engine through the Update Payroll Information screen
a. Navigate to Setup > Payroll > Update Payroll Information
b. If you have a NetSuite OneWorld account, select a subsidiary from the dropdown list in the Subsidiary field
c. Click the Agree checkbox
d. Click Commit Updates
e. Navigate to the To Resolve tab to check for any errors and resolve

a. Navigate to Lists > Employees> Workplaces

b. Edit the Oregon workplace

c. Click Jurisdictions

d. Select the right local based on the link above next to the Local field

e. Save
