Question/Problem:
A Saved Contact Search that is supposed to exclude contacts connected to Customers with Category = wholesale still includes contacts with the said settings.
Customer: Category = is not wholesale
Also, if "Customer: Category" in the Results tab, the results page of the saved search appears to list no accurate results for the Category column. Usually, this column appears blank.
Answer/Solution:
This workaround/solution is applicable on cases where most of the customer records were converted from Lead records using the Lead Conversion feature. Initially, a category is specified when the lead record (Parent) was created, but no information in the Category fields can be specified when Leads are created to Customer records. Thus, a customer search that filters Category fields may not provide accurate results.
Instead of directly referencing to the Category field under Customer fields..., use the joining field "Parent fields..." instead of "Customer fields..." or "Customer (Primary) fields..." in the Criteria tab of the Saved Contact Search.
Taking the example provided, the Criteria and the Results tab should use "Parent: Category - is not wholesale".
