Best Practices for Keyword Campaigns Import

Best Practices when importing Keyword Campaigns

     1. Make sure that all information entered in the Keyword Campaign Template already exists in NetSuite.

The above statement is True for the following columns:

  • Category
  • Item
  • Manager
  • Audience Description
  • Vertical
  • Search Engine
  • Family
  • Offer

In NetSuite, create a new record for the above columns by going to Setup > Marketing > Campaign Management section.

     2. Make sure that the values entered in the Keyword Campaign Template (CSV file) matches the values entered in NetSuite.

For example: in the Manager column, full Employee ID must be entered and not just the Employee Name.

     3. Do not include a monetary symbol ($, PHP, etc.) in the Cost column of the CSV file.

     4. If the corresponding value in NetSuite falls as a sub-category, enter the value in the following format:

          Category : Sub-category

For example: navigating to Lists > Marketing > Create Keyword Campaigns then selecting the Category field, notice that Paid Keywords is a sub-category of Online. In the Keyword Campaign Template (CSV file), enter in the Category column as Online : Paid Keywords.

     5. If a default value is set for the records , perform the steps listed below during the import process:

Using the Category field for this example:

          1. In the View Mapping/ Start Import: Campaign Keywords window, click Edit (pencil icon) beside the Category field.

          2. Click Provide Default Value.

          3. Select the default value from the dropdown list (e.g. Paid Keywords).

          4. Click Done.
