Find and Change the Email Address of Recipient for Bounced Email Notification

Administrator found that there are bounced messages involving sending Emails through NetSuite. Upon investigation, user found out that NetSuite is sending the notification to an email address of a resigned Employee.

Read a sample message from the bounce notification because it will give clue as to how the message was sent.

The notification of undeliverable email is received by a specified From Email address, depending on how the Email was sent from NetSuite:

1. Message from Entity Record. Using the Email button on entity record or sending bulk merges to a group record.

When sending messages to entities (Customers, contacts, vendors, etc). The From Email Address comes from the email login of the Employee who sent the message or can either be the From Email Address of the user set in Home > Set Preferences > General tab > FROM EMAIL ADDRESS.

2. Message from Transaction record.

When sending email via transaction, the From Email Address is set in Setup > Company > Email Preferences > Transactions section > FROM ADDRESS FOR EMAILED FORMS. (see field level help for details)

3. Message from Campaign.

Identify from what Campaign record the Email was sent. View the Campaign record, if there are multiple Events for 1 Campaign,  view the Marketing template used for the specified date.

Template used for the campaign contains a From Email Address set in the Marketing tab of the Marketing Template.

4. Message from Web Orders Confirmation email. Email notification can be automatically sent from NetSuite for: Order received, Order Approved, Order fulfilled, Order Cancelled.

If an Order came from the Web Store, the From Email Address can be changed in Setup > Site Builder > Setup Web Site > Email tab > General section > DEFAULT WEB STORE EMAIL FROM ADDRESS field.
