Lead Date and Prospect Date

  • What is Lead Date/Prospect Date?

Lead Date and Prospect Date are system-generated and cannot be filled in or changed manually or through CSV import. These fields mark the exact date and time a lead or prospect was assigned with a status set to be included in lead reports e.g. Lead Source Analysis.

  • When does Lead Date/Prospect Date field get populated?
The Lead Date field becomes populated only upon saving lead records whose Lead Status was set to be included in lead reports (Setup > Sales > Customer Status > click a status > Include In Lead Reports checkbox). The same goes for Prospect Date field on prospect records.

  • Why do some of our leads/prospects have blank Lead Date?
The Customer Status assigned to those Leads/Prospects must have been set to be excluded in lead reports (i.e. Include In Lead Reports = F). To confirm, run a search of all leads and prospects which have blank Lead Date or Prospect Date and take note of their status. Navigate to Setup > Sales > Customer Status and confirm if Include In Lead Reports checkbox for those statuses was set to False.

  • How can users ensure that all leads and prospects created in the account have Lead Date and/or Prospect Date?
Users may want to set up default Lead and Prospect Statuses which were set to Included in Lead Reports=T. To do this, navigate to Setup > Sales > Sales Preferences > General tab and assign the default Lead and Prospect Statuses.
