Custom Field to Display the Internal ID of an Item Record

Create a custom field to source the Internal ID and display it on the Item record as follows:

1. Navigate to Customization > Lists, Records, & Fields > Item Fields > New.
2. Type a label in the Label field.
3. Set Free- Form Text in the Type field.
4. Unmark the Store Value field.
5. Select the applicable item types on the Applies To tab.
6. Select a subtab to display the field under the Display tab.
7. Click on the Validation & Defaulting tab
      Check the Formula field
      Set the {id} in the Default Value
8. Click Save.
