Add Task/Phone Call/Events to a Custom Record Type

1. Log in as Administrator.
2. Navigate to Customization > Lists, Records, & Fields > CRM Fields > New.
3. Create a custom CRM Field with the following settings:

  • Type: List/Record
  • List/Record: (select the custom record type)
  • Store Value : True
  • Record is Parent : True
  • Applies to : Phone Call
  • Display: Subtab : Main
4. Click Save.
5. Create a Hyperlink field under the Custom Record type for the New Phone Call.
6. 
Customization > Lists, Records, & Fields > Record Types > Select the Custom Record type  > New Field.

7. Click Save.

When a user views or edits a Custom Record type entry, he has the option to click on this field link to create a new Phone Call record. The user needs to select the Custom Record type entry number to associate to this Phone Call record. For every Phone Call record associated with the custom record, it shows as a sublist under the CRM Records tab.

Note: The CRM field can also be used for Task and Events.
