Delete a subsidiary record: "This record cannot be deleted because it has dependent records".

Solution:

Deleting related shadow tax agencies throws "You do not have permission to view this page." To be able to temporarily access the vendor records, please follow the steps below:

1. Go
to Setup> Accounting> Accounting List> Filter Type = Vendor Category
2. Click Edit on Tax agency and Uncheck Tax agency box > Click Save.
3. Go back to Setup>Company> Subsidiary> Click Edit on a Subsidiary record > Click on Actions > Click Delete
-- This record cannot be deleted because it has dependent records.
4. Drill down on dependent records link
5. The vendor records are now editable. Delete all Vendor records associated to Subsidiary.

After all related vendor records are deleted:
1. Go to Setup> Accounting> Accounting List> Filter Type = Vendor Category
2. Click Edit on Tax agency and check Tax agency box > Click Save

1. Go to Setup > Company > Subsidiaries > Click Edit on a Subsidiary record
2. Click on  Actions > Delete : "Are you sure you want to delete this record?"> Click Ok
--The subsidiary record can now be deleted

Important: Do not forget to mark the Tax Agency box after successfully deleting the subsidiary record.

  1. I have this issue now with my Netsuite implementation. I followed the steps and I could delete all the Tax Agency Vendors related to the subsidiary I want to delete, but I still get the message "This record cannot be deleted because it has dependent records" but when it redirects me to the dependent record list, it is empty "No records to show".
